How Giants Are Small Makes Magic

The creative impulses of Giants Are Small are engaged in a constant tête-à-tête: the hand of the artist vs. technological possibility…okay, the hand-wrought in concert with technology. Giants Are Small productions - for the stage, the screen or other platforms — are a series of highly composed images, live or made in the Studio, sometimes consisting of many, improbable parts, adding up to a very big whole, punctuated by that brand-name Giants humor.

W HOT CULTURE / SPECIAL REPORT: DEATH OF PRIVACY

DADABOMB: A TOTAL EVENT

Dadabomb, Giants Are Small’s one night only event that took place at the White Box and The Box in New York City, was one of the most sought-after party/show in the city. As part of the Zurich Meets New York Festival, organized by the Swiss Consulate in New York, Dadabomb will remain in the 200 guests’ memory as a historical moment of Neo Dadaism…

Giants Are Small had invited a phenomenal roaster of performers to celebrate the theme of the evening: The Death of Privacy — from New York cultural icon Justin Vivian Bond, who performed a duet with opera star Anthony Roth Costanzo, to American Ballet Theatre’s Craig Salstein and the Intermezzo Dancers, from Broadway director Doug Hughes, to Swiss performer Clarina Bezzola and other phenomenal guests (Magician Geoff Sobelle, Drummer Swiss Chris, Didgeridoo genius Marc Mueller, the Polka Brothers and performers David Prum and Julianna Zarzycki), the evening was a feast of talents at work.

DADABOMB LIVE ONLINE! SATURDAY MAY 17, 7 PM ET

Under the official sponsoring banner of the festival Zurich Meets New York (www.zurichmeetsnewyork.org), Swiss-New York creative production company Giants Are Small creates a Dada-inspired event exploring the death of privacy in contemporary life. Nearly 100 years after Swiss artists created the Dada movement to challenge not only artistic rules, but the public’s willingness to submit to civic rules, Giants Are Small borrows and updates the often non-sensical and ephemeral Dada form to address in an artistic context the rapidly morphing issue of the end of privacy. #privacyisdead
